Do you love the great outdoors and nature? Then these hip, bohemian backpacks from BAGGYLOVE, Hong Kong, are just perfect for your play day and the beach! I owned 2 backpacks myself and simply love the rugged, sturdy and durable material of the backpacks. I am so definitely going to bring them for my upcoming island-hopping trip to the Philippines. What’s more, you are supporting a social cause with every backpack sold at BAGGYLOVE.
One Bag One Love Project
The One Bag One Love project is the brainchild of Mandy Hsu, a social entrepreneur who started BAGGYLOVE as an online start-up specialising in fabric backpacks and tote bags. For every bag sold, BAGGYLOVE will donate one school bag on your behalf to the kids in Cambodia who are unable to afford the luxury of a new school bag and school supplies.
Mandy, who has a background in graphic design, has a simple but selfless idea when she started BAGGYLOVE in 2014. She has the idea of combining her passion for art and design and making a difference in the lives of those who are less fortunate. Initially, Mandy started by hand-painting a few tote bags and sold them on Etsy store online. She would then donate part of her proceeds to needy children. Then in the winter of 2014, Mandy and her partner visited Cambodia and they were deeply impacted by the fighting spirit and cheerful optimism of the children in the villages even though they were living in poverty and lack.

Mandy contacted the Cambodian Child’s Dream Organization (CCDO) and the idea of the One Bag One Love project sprang forth, as the school bags will go a long way in helping the educational experience of young children in Cambodia where local resources for education are limited. The CCDO supports the entire village and is currently providing education to more than 1550 children, teaching them English from the 3rd to 9th grade as they believe that children hold the key to a brighter future in Cambodia. BAGGYLOVE is also committed to providing more school bags (design and made by Mandy herself) to the Cambodian children. The CCDO is an US based non-profit organization and was registered as a 501(c)(3) tax exempt charity in February 2009. To find out more about the CCDO, please visit their website.
Eco-Friendly and Hip Casual Backpacks
BAGGYLOVE made their bags with love, carefully selecting materials that are eco-friendly and avoid plastic and leather, as Mandy firmly believes that simple, comfortable and laid-back casual is the new fashion style. Their bags use high quality fabric prints with 12 oz cotton/linen material. The vibrantly coloured bags with various combinations of geometrical designs are inspired by native tribes that create a sense of cheerful and uplifting vibes.
Personally, I am happy to feature BAGGYLOVE in my blog as I feel that they are a small business with a simple message and a beautiful heart to help the less fortunate and save the environment. I totally support Mandy’s efforts and vision! 🙂
