Do you own beautiful leather products but are not sure how to care for them? A few years ago, I bought a Prada wallet from Italy, brought it home and left it in its packaging inside my drawer. I didn’t used it at all for a year or so and one day I was shocked to see the state of my “new” Prada wallet. My wallet was affected by mildew so badly that I needed to spend $180 to restore the colour and condition close to its original state.
How did The ShoeTree Project started?
One day, two young men bought some shoe trees online and was dismayed when the shoe trees took 3 weeks to arrive with expensive international shipping cost. Moreover, when the EUR 42 shoe tree did not fit, getting them replaced would incur another monstrous shipping fee, so Atticus and Alphonsus decided to take matters into their own hands and founded The ShoeTree Project.
They started studying how the best shoe trees were made, with a vision to offer premium shoe trees at affordable mass market prices, promising a size exchange for incorrect fits. Their fledgling business then sold its first pair of shoe tree with a Gumtree ad.

100% Horse Hair Shoe Brush |$21.90
This handcrafted horse hair shoe brush cleans dirt effectively, maximizes the spread of the polishes, and works it into a superior elegant shine. The horse-tail hair is stiff enough to work polish and yet delicate on fine leather and is highly resistant to breakage.
I have a lamb skin bag and here is what I did to care for my bag:
- Brush the bag lightly with the Horse Hair Brush to remove any dirt.
- Dab some conditioner sparingly (slightly smaller than a 10 cent coin) onto a cloth and apply the product on the bag. There should not be any excess product on the bag.
- Allow the bag to dry naturally.
The product looks oily at first on my bag but it was absorbed quickly and my bag has a brighter sheen after the treatment. I spent around 20 minutes to care for my leather goods and it felt really good to see my beloved bags and wallets well taken care of!
