I was quite intrigued when I first heard of the brand new Pumpkin Glow Facial from SkinLab especially when it was launched around the Halloween period. Why pumpkin and how does it benefit our skin?

Designed and conceptualized by SkinLab’s in-house doctors to revitalise dull, tired-looking skin, so that your skin will look brighter, hydrated, lifted and incredibly supple after the 2-hour facial treatment. All this is achieved with the goodness contained in the golden fruit which is packed with enzymes such as AHAs for cell turnover and essential vitamins A, B, C and E.

It is recommended to go for regular facials once a month for a more intensive treatment when our skin require something more potent due to stress, environmental pollutants and lack of sleep, as home-care products are only good for daily maintenance.

After cleansing, my therapist applied a Pumpkin Peel to my face and neck which contains pure pumpkin enzymes plus a combination of Green Tea Extract and Beta Carotene. This peel is gentle enough for sensitive skin and sloughs away dead skin cells to prepare the skin for the rest of the treatment. There was a slight stinging sensation as the peel works its magic but it was still bearable for me.

The therapist then applies SkinLab’s Pumpkin Amino Therapy over the peel to help maintain the skin’s moisture and pH levels. The amino therapy consists of 17 amino acids and niacinamide which also prevents unwanted pigmentation from forming.

The therapist then proceeds to extract all my whiteheads and small pimples and it felt great to know that all the “dirty things” had been extracted to prevent clogging the pores. A Pumpkin Hydrating Ampoule containing hyaluronic acid and Epidermal Growth Factors (EGF) is then massaged into the skin with a 24k Gold Nutrient Booster device. A blue LED light is used at this point to promote skin rejuvenation and glow.

The Pumpkin Glow Facial can also help to lift and tighten the skin as well with the Pumpkin Cream (a rich cream with added Stem Cell Activators) and Lymphatic Drainage Massager device. The therapist then followed up with SkinLab’s unique hand massaging techniques for a V-shaped face.

Finally, the therapist applied a Pumpkin Gel-Mask on me for a good half an hour which I have no recollection of as I was so relaxed that I have already fallen asleep at this juncture.
